Rome, Italy

Rome, the capital of Italy, is a very hot travel destination because tourists can choose from many attractions and places to see. This is a city that was once the cultural center of Europe and it is rich with history, architecture, art and music. In Rome, you will experience the heyday of Ancient Rome, beautiful fountains, museums and medieval buildings. Rome boasts fine dining, friendly locals and a lively nightlife. It is a museum in itself. Even though it is Italy’s largest city, the historic center is small enough to make an easy walk.
Here are some recommended places to stay during your visit to Rome. The Daphne Inn is a small but nice bed and breakfast and is good for first time tourists. Boarders are even given cell phones so you can contact them if you need help. There is a quiet, 4-star hotel called the Hotel Residenza in Farnese. It is located in what was formerly a monastery, located off Piazza Farnese near Campo dei Fiori.
An inexpensive mode of seeing some of Rome would be to take the public bus number 110. While you are in Rome, you really need to see the ruins. History lovers will get a great feel of Ancient Rome by strolling through there and touring the Colosseum nearby.
Worth mentioning here is the Vatican, which is the smallest nation in the world, housed here in Rome. This is where the Pope resides and it is also home to the wonderful St. Peter’s Basilica which gives off a powerful aura. Of course, one can’t visit the Vatican without seeing the inspiring Sistine Chapel.
One of the best places to eat lunch is any of the cafes in Piazza Navona. If you like people watching, sit at the Piazza di Spagna.
